URLTV Volume 5 Predictions

The URLTV volume series continues with its 5th edition, featuring some big names, up and comers, and high anticipation returns from some of the best battle rappers in the world. The location isn’t released as all volume cards are, but the small room event will most definitely be worth purchasing on pay-per-view.

AYE VERB VS DNA (VERB 2-1 EDGE)

What a year for Aye Verb, he’s battled Murda Mook and Loaded Lux in the same year and is back with another one at main event. Also battling Twork, Verb has been giving a solid and valiant effort in battle rap. However, DNA is very dangerous and anything can happen with the Queens rapper. But from what Verb has been thru this year, I expect that experience to show in this battle as a slugfest with Verb coming out on top. DNA’s freestyling will definitely come in to place but it’s not something Verb hasn’t dealt with before.

TSU SURF VS REED DOLLAZ (SURF 2-1 CLEAR)

Most will have this battle being a clear bodybag going to the Jersey rapper. And rightfully so. However, with his joint tape with Mozzy dropping, personal issues, and having been a while since he battled in a small room, Surf might be a little rusty in one of these rounds. Reed has gotten a couple of 21st century battles under his belt battling top names (Chess, John John, T-Rex, K Shine) and now knows what works and what doesn’t. Reed knows Surf is good, so I don’t expect Reed to come with complete trash rounds. But Surf is Surf, the talent level will show between the two by the 3rd.

ARSONAL VS CHESS (CHESS 2-1 CLEAR)

This is probably the most anticipated battle as far as a back and forth. Arsonal, coming off a Twork, Geechi, and sub par Cassidy battle showing that he can stay with the new generation. Chess, battling a number of killers for the past three years non stop and doing numbers. Arsonal’s disrespect style will surely do pretty well for a round and his vocal projection is very underrated. As far as pen goes, I have to give it to Chess barring choking. As far as angles, punchlines, and wordplay goes, Chess is far beyond Arsonal and his pen. That doesn’t mean Ars pen isn’t tough, but when 100% percent, I just think Chess is in a zone and in a small room is even tougher.

RUM NITTY VS CHILLA JONES (NITTY 3-0 EDGE)

I’m a Boston guy and I support Chilla fully. BUT! Nitty is just too much at times for rappers, especially someone like Chilla who’s pen is good but is slow to a punch. That slowness will hinder Chilla in each round. I don’t expect a dirty 30, but the roll of punching will just be overbearing for the Boston kingpin.

NEW JERZEY TWORK VS AVE (TWORK 2-1 CLEAR)

I’ve gone on in these predictions already talking about Twork’s high end energy, pen, and aggression. Plus the star power is just too much for Ave. Not sleeping on Ave, I’m sure he’ll go off in one of these rounds with back to back punches, but we saw the same thing with Rum against Twork. The energy or pen needs to be superb to beat the Jersey rapper, especially in a small room. I hope it doesn’t get ugly barring choking. I expect Twork to stumble his way thru one of these rounds.

GEECHI GOTTI VS O-RED (RED 2-1 EDGE)

I don’t like this battle at all. Both seem to have pens that can be hot and cold at any point. After a haymaker, they can say the worst things in the world. I expect a sub par battle, but if I had to choose, Red will win… Next.

ACE VS SWAMP (SWAMP 2-1)

I like this battle as an opener. I feel like both battlers are good for going crazy for one round with two other ok rounds. But there will be exciting parts in each round that will have people buzzing. I just personally like Swamp better in this one. But if these two do good, it doesn’t matter who wins.
